They are very lucky

I watched a clip last night about an American soldier who was hurt in Iraq and lost all of his 4 limbs. My condolences goes to him with all sympathy I can give.
Until.
I was reminded that he was there on an invasion of a country, killing my muslim brothers and sisters on the other side of the globe.
Currently, he's still undergoing therapy, using bilateral prosthesis and received his first hand transplant. Still waiting for the second hand. From what I saw he's using the high-end kind of prosthesis. Malaysian price would be more than RM10k.

A few days before that I watched Battleship, the movie. I like the movie just because its a loud, action-packed movie although the storyline is a bit boring. The highlight of the movie (personal opinion) was the 10 seconds of Physical Training Center where they displays a group of American soldiers, mainly are amputees with their prosthesis. Me and my friend went awed because of their high-end center and prosthesis. Those cost a bomb, which is the reason we never see it in clinics. Somemore about the character Mike, who lost both of his legs and lost his spirit -"I'm half a man". And his character remain till the end of story, as he became one of the world's savior.

Both of this clips/videos made me think-how lucky they are. Unlucky that they were amputated in uncalled situation (war and bombs) but very lucky that they currently walking, with high-end prosthesis. And the fact that they were injured for being in place they shouldn't be. They shouldn't even be there in the first place. Aku kan anti-Amerika (yang masih melahap Mekdi). Tapi aku fikir, depa ni kesian kaki kena potong tapi I cannot give myself reason to be sympathetic. Kesian lagi mangsa peperangan.

"It was about my position on Americans killing Muslim civilians, which is that Muslims should defend their lands from foreign invaders – Soviets, Americans, or Martians. This is what I believe. It’s what I’ve always believed, and what I will always believe. This is not terrorism, and it’s not extremism. It’s what the arrows on that seal above your head represent: defense of the homeland " - Tarek Mehanna

Untunglah. Untunglah mereka. Walau mereka tidak beruntung tapi masih beruntung.
